FAQs

SKINCARE

  • Facials and other skin care treatments can help to improve a number of skin concerns, including:

overall skin healthdryness & dehydrationacne, breakouts & blackheadsfine lines, wrinkles & loss of elasticity

  • I customize treatment plans for each of my clients, but here’s an idea of what to expect:

If you want to improve a specific concern, such as acne or hyperpigmentation, a series of 6 treatments every 2 weeks is usually best.

For maintenance and overall skin health, booking facials every 4-6 weeks is best.

If your only concern is relaxation and enjoyment, then you can come in as often as you’d like! But make sure to space treatments out no less than 2 weeks apart.

  • I have lots of pre-made facials with detailed descriptions on my booking site, but can also build a custom treatment specifically for your skin. When in doubt, book “IDK Which Facial to Book” on my booking site, which gives us enough time for a thorough consultation and facial.

  • Each appointment starts with an analysis of your skin, what products you’re currently using, any relevant health information, and your personal skin care goals. Being honest with your esthetician about these things will ensure the best results and safest treatment for you. Of course, everything is confidential!

WAXING

  • I work with a combination of my fingers and an extraction tool- mostly the former. I do not extract what I do not deem safe to extract.

  • Most aspects of a facial have been described by my clients as enjoyable, but extractions are usually described as the least pleasant part. Rest assured that I will always extract as many comedones as I can, with the least pain possible, and without damaging the skin.

In order to minimize discomfort during extractions, keeping the skin exfoliated and hydrated is key. Drinking a lot of water and applying hydrating products will help with this.

  • It can, but there are ways to prevent this. I’m a skin care specialist, so even my waxing techniques are infused with my skin care philosophy. I use a high quality hard wax that adheres to hairs, not skin, and that’s free of fragrances, dyes, and mineral oil. I also use safe products to cleanse and soothe the skin. I keep my wax pot clean and as free from contaminants and bacteria as possible. Finally, I instruct my clients when and how to wash and exfoliate the area.
